Since 2019, Coastal uses compostable packaging. With a focus on reducing our carbon footprint, we are carbon offset with UPS, and plant a tree for every order with our partner Ecologi (more on that on our sustainability page).

What are your sustainable practices?

We spend a lot of time and effort on this! We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact, our mailers are compostable, our hang tags are made from corn waste and can be tossed into the compost bin, our string is 100% linen with means it is biodegradable as well as our tissue paper, and we are 100% plastic free. We carbon offset every order, and work with Ecologi to plant trees, you can track our progress in real time through this link :

What does GOTS Organic Cotton means?

COASTAL sources GOTS certified organic cotton, which stands for Global Organic Textile Standard. GOTS certified organic cotton, is the only one that guarantees both the social conditions and the non-toxicity of cotton processing products, fabrics and finished products.

The GOTS certification certifies that cotton is grown without GMOs, without chemicals (fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides), and with traceability from the cotton fields to the final customer including transaction certificates at each step. It guarantees respect for social working condition and reasonable and controlled water management. It doesn’t allow the use of toxic products (at all stages of production: spinning / weaving / dyeing / printing / printing / garment); neither for the environment, nor for production workers nor for users.
